If you use the Japan Finance Corporation (the New Business Startup Loan program, etc.) to supplement your own capital, bringing a by-the-book business plan does not guarantee a full approval.

Using second-hand items or online retail to hold down equipment costs is an effective tactic, but there are practical traps here too.
When you buy something like an upright freezer-refrigerator at auction or on a bargain e-commerce site, the delivery condition that’s so easy to miss is “kerbside delivery” (handed over on the truck, no unloading).
Even when a piece of commercial equipment weighing over 100 kg arrives by truck, the driver will not help unload it or carry it into the shop.
